Quality Control

Quality is at the heart of everything we do. Every batch of down and feather material undergoes thorough inspection and testing to ensure it meets the highest international standards for cleanliness, performance, and durability. Our dedicated in-house laboratory is equipped with advanced testing technology to monitor every stage of production — from raw material selection to the final packaged product.

Our process covers every stage — sourcing, cleaning, sorting, testing, packaging — supported by advanced technology and a deep commitment to precision craftsmanship.

Laboratory Testing

All materials are tested in our laboratory to verify key performance indicators, including:

  • Fill Power – to measure the loft and insulation capability of the down.

  • Turbidity and Oxygen Number – to determine cleanliness and purity.

  • Moisture Content – to ensure proper drying and long-term quality.

  • Species Identification and Composition Analysis – to confirm the authenticity and ratio of down to feather.

  • Durability and Resilience Tests – to check for long-term performance in real-use conditions.

These tests guarantee that every product we deliver is safe, hygienic, and ready for immediate use in high-end bedding, apparel, and outdoor products.

Standards Followed

Our processes strictly adhere to globally recognized standards, including:

  • EN 12934 – European standard for labeling of down and feather fillings.

  • EN 12935 – European standard for cleanliness and hygiene.

  • IDFB (International Down and Feather Bureau) Testing Methods – ensuring consistency with industry benchmarks.

  • DIN and ISO Standards – for material analysis and product safety.

Compliance with these standards ensures that our down and feather products consistently meet the expectations of premium international markets.

Certifications

At Golden Goose, we are dedicated to continuous improvement and take our responsibility seriously — socially, environmentally, and economically — across every stage of our value chain.

To uphold this commitment, our operations and supply chain are certified by globally recognized standards such as Bluesign®, Responsible Down Standard (RDS), Global Recycling Standard (GRS), Downpass, HIGG Index, and OEKO-TEX®. These certifications ensure that every Golden Goose product is made with responsible resource management, ethical sourcing, and minimal environmental impact.

A central priority in our process is the well-being of waterfowl within the down supply chain. Through strict adherence to these standards, we guarantee that all down and feathers are obtained as a by-product of the food industry, and that the animals are never exposed to unnecessary harm or cruelty.

Down and feathers are among the most natural and renewable materials available — and at Golden Goose, we ensure they are a fair and sustainable filling for everyone.

Bluesign

bluesign® system partners are responsibly acting parties of the textile value chain. They aim to continuously improve their environmental performance and are focused on a sustainable future. The Input Stream Management ensures that all substances posing any risk to people and the environment are completely eliminated from all steps of the manufacturing process.

Responsible Down Standard (RDS)

The aim of the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) is to ensure that down and feather deriving from waterfowl have never been subjected to any unnecessary harm. This is accomplished by providing the industry with a tool to verify and validate the source of the material from the farm to the final product.

Global Recycling Standard (GRS)

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of Recycled Content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The goal of the GRS is to increase use of Recycled materials in products and reduce the harm caused by its production.

Downpass

The DOWNPASS-Standard is a zero tolerance standard that aims to globally promote the proper raising of geese and ducks kept for farming purposes. This includes the responsible sourcing of feathers and down won as by-product of the meat production. Traceability must be comprehensively documented in order to ensure a transparent supply chain.

HIGG

The Higg Index tools measure the entire impact from social and environmental performance across the value chain, delivering a holistic overview that empowers businesses to make meaningful improvements that protect the well-being of factory workers, local communities, and the environment.

OEKO-TEX

The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is one of the worlds best known seals testing and certifying textiles for harmful substances. In many cases, the limit values set for STANDARD 100 exceed national and international specifications. All our qualities are tested and meet the strictest applicable requirements and limits of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX Annex 4, which means our products are safe for baby products.
